Q: What is my blog?
A: Your blog is whatever you want it to be. It can be a daily journal, a recording of random thoughts. Favourite poems or quotes. Your blog is an extension of you and will be a reflection of what you want others to know about you.
 
Q: How do I post to my blog and where will it show up?
A: You create a new blog, or post to your blog by clicking on the blog tab at the top of your page.  When others open your profile, they can read your blog by clicking view blog under actions.
 
Q: Can people respond to my blog?
A: People can add a comment by clicking at the bottom of your blog.
 
BLOCKING USERS:
Q: How can I block a user from contacting me?
A: When you call up a user’s profile, you can choose to block them from the actions on the left side of the page.

Q: Can I un-block a user once they have been blocked?
A:  Use the search function to locate the user you desire to block.  Click on their profile and select block this user.  To unblock the user, follow the steps above and choose Unblock user.

CHAT:
Q: Where can I find the public chat room?
A: The public chat room is located on a tab at the top of your screen.
 
Q: What is the difference between the chat room and the rooms?
A: The chat rooms are live, real time discussions, the rooms consist of posted messages that are not live. There is, however, the ability to have a live chat within a room by clicking on the “start live chat” button while within a room. Some rooms will have regular live discussion times.

EXTENDED MATCH:
Q: What is the Extended Match and how does it work?
A:  The extended match is a special program that allows you to disclose sensitive information that is not viewable to other members and llocate people who might be open to meeting you.

Q: What are the colour icons I see under Extended Match?
A: The extended match icons are displayed as (Mine) meaning yours, appearing first denoting your gender and (Theirs) appearing second denoting their gender and meaning the person whose profile you are viewing.  The colors are described as follows:

Q: What if I don’t fill out the Extended Match?
A: You will default to not matching with users.

Q: Who can see my Extended Match answers?
A: No other member can see your extended match answers.  In fact only an administrator with secured logon can see your extended match, however they must request the password and describe their need before the password is released.  So in short, unless you request help with your profile or are suspected of abuse, No One will ever see your extended match answer's, but you.
 
Q: How do I know that my Extended Match details are confidential?
A: To protect sensitive information, like your extended match, your private messages to other members etc.  We have a single Administrative logon for the site administrators that has access to that information.  This logon is secured and the password is maintained by two individuals and the log is maintained by a third person, a checks and balances protocol.
 
Q: How do I change what I have filled out in the Extended Match?
A: You can change your extended match answers any time you want by clicking on your profile.  Important note:  If you make a change to your extended match it will take up to 24 hours to reflect the change.
 
Q: Where can I find more information of the Extended Match topics?
A: More information about the items discussed in the extended match can be found on the info page under STI-Information and Lifestyles.
 
E-MAILS:
Q: How do I send an e-mail?
A: Sending an E-mail to other members is easy.  Just click on their profile on the left side in the black box marked Actions, click on "Send Mail".
 
Q: How do I answer the e-mail?
A: You can answer an E-mail by clicking on the you have a new message link, which appears on your Home page or by Clicking on "mailbox" located in the links at the top of the page.
 
Q: Can I attach a picture of file to the e-mail message?
A: No, the E-mail are text only and do not recognize any HTML.  You can, however attach an emoticon, simply by clicking on the desired emotion and it will be displayed to the receiver of the message as an emoticon.

Q: How do I add someone to my favorite list?
A:  From the action list on the left of their opened profile, choose add to favourites.
 
Q: Can they see if they have been added to my favorite list?
A:   That depends, if the member is a non-paying member, then anyone can see who is in their favorites, however if the member is a paying member, they have the ability to hide their favorite lists from all members.

Q: Will I be alerted when someone from my favorite list is online?
A:  No, however you can click on your Favorites list and it will show if anyone from your favorites list is online.

INSTANT MESSAGING:
Q: How can I send and receive Instant Messages?
A: You can send an instant message by visiting the person's profile you desire to IM.  If you intend to use the audio and video portion of the Im, ensure you set up your microphone and cam first.  Once you click on Start Messenger, you must wait for the other person to show online.  If they have pop-up-blocker on, they will only see a small box similar to the ones you see for new messages.  If they don't, then the messenger will appear and they will show as online.
 
Q: How can I use Instant Messenger with voice?
A: Make sure your hardware is plugged in and active.  To enable voice, click voice beside your picture and switch it to on.  The settings for your mic are at the top of the IM box, right click and make sure the correct hardware is selected.  MAKE SURE YOU SWITCH THE VOICE TO OFF WHEN YOU STOP CHATTING OTHERWISE THE CONNECTION COULD REMAIN OPEN!
 
Q: How can I use Instant messenger with video/webcam?

A: Yes, you can have several IM sessions going concurrently, even with voice and video, however, the other users will not be able to see or hear each other.
 
Q: Can I do group Instant Messaging?
A: At the moment, it is not possible to do group instant messaging, unless you are the owner of a room, then you are able to message all room members.

A: Under profile select settings.  You must enter your current password followed by your new password and then you must confirm your new password, click save changes and your done.
 
Q: How do I change my personal information?
A:  Your personal information can be changed by going into your profile and selecting settings.  If the information you desire to change was done at Registration, contact AVI using the Contact Us page and she can help you out.
 
Q: How do I change my profile content?
A: You can edit your profile content by opening your profile page while logged in.  Remember to save any changes.
 
PROFILE SYMBOLS:
Q: What do the different symbols mean under my profile?

A: The talk bubble means there is a blog.

The message page shows when you have a message history with another user

The yellow key means that there are private pictures.

The film strip means there is a video introduction

The zodiac sign shows your sign.

PHOTOS:
Q: How do I upload my photos?
A: Click on your profile and select upload photos from the profile management menu.  Find the image that says "Photo Not Available" and choose edit.  Enter in a name and description of the picture.  Select Browse and select the picture you desire to upload.  Mark the picture private if you do not want all members to be able to see the photo.  Click the upload button and then the Save button and your done.
 
Q: How many photos may I upload?
A:  You may upload a maximum of 20 photos.
 
Q: What are the photo guidelines?
A: Please read the following guidelines before sending your photos:
  • Group photos are only accepted if you have specified who you are and there are no more than 3 people on the photo.
  • Avoid small photos. Your photo should be at least 150 x 150 pixels. The recommended resolution is 450 x 450.
  • When scanning your photo please cut the empty areas around the photo - this way your photo will seem bigger and the file size will be smaller.
  • Photos with erotic content must be saved as private.
  • Celebrity or copyrighted photos are not accepted.
  • We will contact local Law Enforcement on any image that exploits a child in a sexual manner or depicts child abuse.
Q: Can I hide my photos?
A: You can make any photo you desire private and no member can view them without your permission.
 
Q: How do I give someone permission to view my locked photos?
A: Once you have uploaded a private photo you can grant access to it by viewing the profile of the person you desire to grant access to and selecting garant access to my private photos from the action menu.  You can also revoke permission in the same way.
 
PRIVACY POLICY:
Q: Where will I find your privacy policy?
A: The privacy policy has its own page, it is located near the top of your screen.

A:  The PRIVATE ROOMS are by invitation only.  If you wish to join a PRIVATE ROOM, you can request an invitation by contacting the ROOM OWNER or by contacting AVI from the Contact Us page..  The PUBLIC ROOMS are open to everyone.
 
Q: How do I get invited to join a PRIVATE ROOM?
A: You can make your desire known to AVI by clicking on her name in the Contact Us page.
 
Q: Can I chat live in all the ROOMS?
A: No, each room with live chat will have a START LIVE CHAT link on the left, if there is no link, there is no live chat.
 

Q: How do I chat live with others in the ROOM?

A: Enter the ROOM and from the actions menu select start group chat.

Q: What is your policy on spammers and scammers?

Q: How do I search profiles?
A: Click on the Search link at the top of the page and select the type of search from the Search Mode box.
 
Q: How can I search by username?
A: Click on the Search link at the top of the page and scroll to the bottom of the page, you will see a search by username box.  Enter in the user name and select search.
 
Q: How do I save a search?
A: Click on the Search link at the top of the page and from the Search Mode box, select Custom Search.  Enter in your search criteria and then check the box at the bottom of the page and enter in a name and click search, your done.  Your saved search will appear in the Search Mode box at the bottom, click the small "x" next to it to delete it.  You may have multiple searches saved.

VIEWED ME:
Q: Can I see who has viewed me and vice versa?
A:  Under "my profile" on your home page, you will see how many times your profile has been viewed and you can click on view to see who has looked at you.  If someone has chosen to hide who they view, however, you will not be able to see them.  To block others from knowing you have viewed them, open your profile, choose settings on the left and mark view other profiles in invisible mode.

VIDEO INTRODUCTION:
Q: How do I record a video introduction?
A: From your profile click on Record Video in the profile management menu.  Click on the control to activate it.  If you already created a video, you will need to click the "x" on the control to delete the current video.  Click on the round record button and create your video.  The video will automaticall be uploaded to our server.  Press play to review your video. A video intro is a great way to add dimension to your profile and attract attention to yourself.  A video introduction allows people to hear and see you and that gives you a huge edge over just picture posters.

Q: Who can see my video introduction?
A: Anyone can see your video.
 
Q: How can I give permission to someone to see my video introduction?
A: Currently all videos are public and are available for anyone to view.
